The long-standing discussion over improved payouts for ATP players had almost taken an ugly turn in January 2018, and its repercussions had a huge impact on Novak Djokovic. Djokovic reportedly appealed to over 150 players to go on strike, a movement that some stars like Roger Federer opposed.

Djokovic, then president of the ATP Player Council, chaired a meeting with around 150 top players and the administrators of the sport. Held just days before the 2018 Australian Open, it failed to reach an amicable conclusion. The officials were asked to leave the room early for some players-only talks.

Speaking to his contemporaries, Novak Djokovic reportedly called for a boycott of the 2019 Australian Open and the formation of a rebel association. As per The Guardian, the Serb wished to increase the overall prize money offered to players. However, he also wanted to end the tradition of Grand Slams offering equal prize money to men and women. Andy Murray strongly opposed this.

Roger Federer agreed with Djokovic’s motion that prize money needs to be increased, especially for lower-ranked players. However, he was staunchly against extreme steps like a strike or directly pointing fingers at the administrators. Speaking to The Guardian, one official labelled Djokovic ‘mad’, saying talk of boycott is nonsense.

“He’s mad if he thinks this is going to succeed. It makes no sense.”

The main concern of these players was that professionals below a certain ranking, usually those outside the top 100-120, do not make sufficient money. Novak Djokovic wished to address that with an overall increased prize pool. He would ultimately establish the Professional Tennis Players Association (PTPA) a couple of years later. Making tennis accessible and profitable for lower-ranked players is one of the main directives of the new organisation. Another issue the PTPA wishes to address is how the ATP manages both players and tournaments. They want to become a player-only body to remove this conflict of interest.

However, men’s tennis activity still comes under the ATP’s purview. The PTPA does not yet have a directly influential or controlling power. However, Djokovic and his team played an important role in the introduction of the ATP’s Baseline program. The World No.1 has been relentless in his efforts to get more money into players’ pockets.

Federer, and Rafael Nadal, meanwhile, have firmly been on ATP’s side, also slamming Djokovic for creating the PTPA. This has led many fans to accuse the duo of being the association’s mouthpieces and not doing much to help their fellow players. They have advocated improved, and even equal, pay but have not been as vocal and proactive as Novak Djokovic.

In tennis, several rivalries have been born over the years. None more so consequential than the ones between the Big Three players i.e. Rafael Nadal vs Roger Federer, Roger Federer vs Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic. The last one has its endearing place in tennis history. It only increased after both of them hired their respective coaches. This is how Nadal’s and Djokovic’s coaches somehow impacted their rivalry.

In December 2016, Rafael Nadal hired Carlos Moya, former World No. 1 and winner of the Roland Garros in 1998, as his coach. Three years later in 2019, Novak Djokovic hired Goran Ivanisevic as his coach. Ivanisevic will always remain the only player to win a Grand Slam as a wildcard entry when he won the 2001 Wimbledon.

Interestingly, Ivanisevic and Djokovic have more in common. Ivanisevic once ran out of bats during a match after smashing it multiple times. Djokovic too has an unenviable record of smashing his racket 62 times in his career, something that Nadal has never done.

But Rafael Nadal has not only beaten Novak Djokovic but also Goran Ivanisevic, that too twice. Both the wins were before Nadal turned 18. Ivanisevic is a legend in his own right but his losses against Nadal came back into popular consciousness after Nadal fans used them to fuel the Nadal-Djoker rivalry.

The first Nadal vs Ivanisevic clash first took place at the 2003 Miami Open. It was the second round match of the top half, when Rafael Nadal faced a then-aging, Goran Ivanisevic. Nadal was three months shy of turning 18, and Ivanisevic was more than 32 years old. Still, Ivanisevic had more experience. The match wasn’t completed since Ivanisevic was retired hurt. But Rafael Nadal won the first set 6-4, and no more set was played. Nadal got a walkover. It was still a major win for the youngster.

They met again a month later at the Estoril Open in Portugal. This time it was the first-round encounter and Ivanisevic had the perfect opportunity to take his revenge on the youngster. Nadal, who still wasn’t officially 18, beat Ivanisevic 6-4, 6-1 in the match and took a 2-0 lead in their head-to-head. Nadal winning both those matches was considered a huge upset back then.

Why was Rafael Nadal beating Goran Ivanisevic important to the Nadal-Djokovic rivalry?

Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have faced each other 59 times in their career. Djokovic just leads the head-to-head count with 30 wins over Nadal’s 29 wins. In 2019, when Djokovic and Ivanisevic got together as a player-coach duo since his previous coach Marian Vajda didn’t just want to coach one player in the Grand Slams. It was a good move and it helped Djokovic perform well. But when an active Rafael Nadal is still playing, and he defeated the coach of his rival before he was 18, it is bound to get some traction.

Interestingly, Novak Djokovic also played against Nadal’s coach and former No. 1 player Carlos Moya. They met four times, with the honors split 2-2 among them. Djokovic doesn’t lead in this aspect and hence it didn’t create as much hype as Nadal beating Ivanisevic did. Rafael Nadal might be back for the French Open 2024, to which Djokovic said that he will still be a threat.

Jannik Sinner lifted the Rotterdam Open title right after winning the 2024 Australian Open, his first Grand Slam. This is a feat that even Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, and Rafael Nadal did not achieve. The Big 3, and more illustrious players, did not triumph in the first tournament they participated in after their maiden Grand Slam victory.

Sinner has elevated his game to elite levels over the last few months. He began his 2024 season with the Australian Open, going on to lift the trophy for his first Majors title. He beat three top 5 players, Andrey Rublev, Djokovic, and Daniil Medvedev, in the last three matches of the tournament.

After Melbourne, Jannik Sinner featured in the Rotterdam Open. He played incredible tennis in the ATP 500 event, dropping only one set. He beat Alex de Minaur in the final to clinch the title, the 12th of this career. Apart from a new career-high rank of World No.3, this victory also meant he eclipsed the Big 3 and every other Grand Slam champion since 2001 by achieving a rare record.

Sinner won the first tournament he participated in after securing the maiden Grand Slam title of his career. The last person to achieve this feat was Lleyton Hewitt in 2001. The Aussie won the Japan Open right after bagging his first Majors trophy at the US Open.

Roger Federer and Gaston Gaudio came closest, finishing runner-up in the next event after their first Grand Slam titles. The list of Majors champions since 2001 includes stars like Andy Roddick, Andy Murray, Stan Wawrinka, Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, and more. Each one of them has failed to do well in the next tournament after winning their first Grand Slam trophy.

Sinner broke the streak by winning the 2024 Rotterdam Open, outdoing these legendary names. This bodes very well for the Italian, who is tipped to match, if not surpass, these icons and establish a solid legacy.

Rafael Nadal’s latest interview with El Objective de La Sexta is dropping truth bombs that were previously unheard of. He is all over the news for his comment on Roger Federer not being his best friend. It came as a shock to everyone who thought they were pretty close over the years. The Spanish legend was merely expressing his views on the admiration he has for Federer, but they weren’t very close on a personal level.

“I wouldn’t consider him a friend. But someone familiar, with whom I have a great relationship,” said Nadal in that interview about Federer.

Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have had some endearing rivalries over the years, and some special moments on the court. They also hardly bad-mouthed each other. Therefore, it was easy to assume that the two of them were great friends. However, Nadal cites that their personal lives are different. This news is coming on the back of Novak Djokovic previously stating that he was never close with Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal either.

Both Djokovic and Federer have admitted that they aren’t close friends with each other. And now with Nadal’s confession, it is clear that there’s much more to their lives than what people think generally. Rafael Nadal, who is always known for his humility and discipline on the court, is also more of a complex person. He is not just a friend’s friend but knows to keep his professional boundaries as well as personal ones. Of Nadal’s best friends, fellow Spanish player David Ferrer is one of them.

One player who cracked the code of breaking into each of the Big Three’s friendship circles is Alexander Zverev. Although Zverev is going through some controversies, he spoke about his relationship with Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Novak Djokovic in an interview in 2019.

In an interview with L’Equipe, Alexander Zverev said

“I have a close relationship with Novak Djokovic, we live in Monaco, we spend time together, but I am even closer to Roger Federer. We are friends. He often talks to me, especially after tough losses. he gives me advice, he doesn’t do it for everybody.”

In a different interview, Zverev added –

“About Rafael Nadal, he communicates less with other players, he usually spends time with Spaniards and his team. But I do not want to be misunderstood. He is a very good guy, he is always available when you ask him for something.”

These were Zverev’s cumulative views on the Big Three. But he didn’t end any of the interviews without mentioning that he is more focused on beating the Big Three.

Alexander Zverev considers Rafael Nadal hard to approach and took his friendship with Roger Federer very far

In his interview, although subtle, it was clear that Alexander Zverev meant Rafael Nadal is harder to approach than the other two of the Big Three. However, he didn’t want to say something wrong and quickly explained how nice and gentlemanly Rafael Nadal always is. However, his friendship and possibly idolatry with Roger Federer is a little too strong. Zverev once went to South America with Roger Federer for his exhibition match in 2019.

Zverev has also been a star player for Roger Federer’s European team at the Laver Cup whenever he plays. The Laver Cup was started by Roger Federer and his manager Tony Godsick, who are also looking to take it to the Middle East in the coming years.

Right about the time the Australian Open 2024 was going on, Novak Djokovic dropped a bombshell interview. In there, he revealed how and why Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal have never been friends with him. Novak Djokovic also mentioned that he is closer now with the younger lot of players than he ever was with either of the Big Three counterparts. After Rafael Nadal’s recent interview, Djokovic’s claims now sound more correct.

Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal just proved that Novak Djokovic is perhaps accurate about why the Big Three are different from the current crop of players. Djokovic believes that he is closer with players like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, etc since they are more communicative and expressive with each other. This is despite the fact that Djokovic is more than 10 years older than every single one of those players. Alcaraz, Sinner, and Zverev are 20, 22, and 26 years old respectively.

It could be the advent of social media as well, where people are constantly in touch with each other. Such was not the case when Djokovic first started and developed a rivalry with Federer and Nadal.

When Novak Djokovic started there was the Big Two, before the Big Three ever became a thing. Djokovic wasn’t easily welcomed, and he has spoken about this at length more than a few times. Federer didn’t like him at all when they started. He even openly criticized him after their 2006 Davis Cup clash, which started their everlasting rivalry. Djokovic wasn’t particularly close with Nadal either, since he felt that both of them united against him.

So, the only natural thing to assume was Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have grown closer to each other. But that’s not completely the case either, as was evident after Rafael Nadal’s most recent interview. The Spaniard explained that he has a lot of admiration for Federer and will always have but does not consider him a ‘friend’. This just proves that friendship, getting along, and overall camaraderie are far more prevalent now than it was before.

Why weren’t Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic like Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner?

Is it simply easier to be friends now than it was before? That shouldn’t generally be the case, but more comparisons between the two generations indicate that point. Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, for example, trained together at the former’s coach Juan Carlos Ferrero’s academy in Spain back in December 2023 during the off-season. The two players knew each other before they turned professionals too, perhaps making the relation a lot smoother. This is even as it is believed that Alcaraz vs Sinner will be the next biggest rivalry in tennis once Djokovic and Nadal retire.

When it comes to the Big Three, it could also be the bubbling rivalry between them which led to insecurities and perhaps lack of trust in opening up with each other in order to not be found out. In many other fields as well, top performers might not be close at all off their professional setups even if they work with or against each other.

On top of that, each of their personalities clash with one another. While Roger Federer seems to be more elegant with a calm demeanor, Djokovic is renowned for having fun with pranks up his sleeve and on multiple occasions getting into a rift with fans and his opponents. Rafael Nadal, on the other hand, is a very private person off the court, who is likeable for being humble and dedicated to his craft. His lack of English-speaking skills as compared to Federer and Djokovic also do not help his case, as Nadal himself admitted last year that he does not have friends on the ATP Tour now.

All of these may be reason enough for their non-friendly relations. But they have always had great admiration and respect for each other and continue to have it. Rafael Nadal even called Novak Djokovic the greatest tennis player of all time in his recent interview.

Besides the likes of Carlos Moya and Juan Carlos Ferrero, few Spanish tennis players have made an impact on the big stage like Rafael Nadal. World No.2 Carlos Alcaraz is the next big thing from the country. At age 20, Alcaraz has already won two Grand Slams i.e. the 2022 US Open and the 2023 Wimbledon Championships. There have always been comparisons between Alcaraz and Nadal.

Now, amidst all this hoopla, some heavy words of praise are coming in from Nadal himself for the youngster. Despite all the comparisons, Nadal believes Alcaraz is much better than he ever was at that age. In an interview with LaSexta, Nadal said that he didn’t have as much ability with his serving, volleying, backhand, hand-eye coordination, and many other features that Alcaraz already possesses. Most importantly, Nadal mentions that Alcaraz has this hunger of always wanting to face the best in the world, which Nadal never did in his young career.

As far as the best in the world is concerned, Novak Djokovic takes the icing on that one. Carlos Alcaraz’s biggest victory last year was against Djokovic at the Wimbledon final. The 20-year-old won that match by 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 after a grueling five sets. Alcaraz also defeated Djokovic one more time at the 2022 ATP Masters 1000 semi-final in Madrid. But the Serbian GOAT still has the upper hand over the young Spaniard. Djokovic won three times against Alcaraz – Roland Garros, ATP Masters 1000 Cincinnati, and Nitto ATP Finals in Turin, all in 2023.

Due to this intense rivalry that took birth between the two players of different generations, Alcaraz always has Djokovic on his mind. He always seems to prepare for a tournament, with the aim of beating beat Novak Djokovic. Hence, the urge to beat the world’s best. Many believe, unlike Nadal, that Alcaraz’s obsession with beating Djokovic is hindering his overall growth as a player after the 2023 Wimbledon win. Alcaraz lost in the quarterfinals of the 2024 Australian Open against Alexander Zverev and didn’t get a chance to face Djokovic this time.

How did Rafael Nadal actually fare in comparison to Carlos Alcaraz?

Ahead of the Netflix Slam in March 2024, the comparisons between Alcaraz and Nadal went rife. It was further exacerbated when those who researched found a lot of similarities between the two. Even though Rafael Nadal would love to be humble and hail Alcaraz above himself in every aspect.

They were both World No.2 when they were aged 20. Now, it’s Djokovic who is World No.1 and during Nadal’s time, it was Roger Federer. Nadal also won two Grand Slams by 20, just like Alcaraz did.

Nadal had more ATP titles than Alcaraz at 20, but the youngster won more matches against Top 10 players.

Rafael Nadal might be in awe of Carlos Alcaraz, but the 20-year-old still has a long way to go to be anywhere near Nadal in terms of achievements.

One of the most endearing, heartwarming, and inspirational stories in tennis, remains how Goran Ivanisevic, a Croatian wildcard entrant won the Wimbledon in 1991. To date, he remains the only wildcard entrant to ever win a Grand Slam. However, that’s not the only record in Ivanisevic’s book. In another unflattering record, Ivanisevic trumps World No.1 Novak Djokovic.

Novak Djokovic has a not-so-great record of smashing his rackets 62 times in his career. Compare that to Roger Federer, who smashed it 5 times, and Rafael Nadal who never did it. But other players like John McEnroe have often done it. Goran Ivanisevic is one such tennis star who used to always smash his rackets mid-game.

Known for his bad temperament, Ivanisevic often lost his cool during a game and took it out of his racket. However, in one particular match, he had to pay the price for it heavily. It was at the Brighton 2000 Samsung Open when Goran Ivanisevic ran out of rackets.

“Gerry I don’t have any more racquets,” said a baffled and perplexed Ivanisevic to Gerry Armstrong, the match supervisor.

Goran Ivanisevic was playing against a Korean tennis player Hyung-Taik Lee. The score was 5-5 in the first set when Ivanisevic broke his first racket. The reason was his outrage, which only got worse after that. Ivanisevic received a warning for it, but it just slid off his back. Ivanisevic lost the first set 7-5 but won the second one 7-6 (6-4).

In the third set, the game hung at 1-1 for a long time and Ivanisevic missed several break point attempts. That’s when he broke a second racket and got a second warning. When the score moved to 1-3, with the Croatian player losing two points, he broke another i.e. third racket. A third warning came as a result of it, but by this time it was too late. Ivanisevic was all out of rackets.

The game stopped at 7-5, 6-7 (4-6), 1-3, with both Ivanisevic and Hyung-Taik Lee winning a set each. But since Ivanisevic ran out of rackets, Hyung-Taik Lee received a walkover in the strangest of circumstances, and Ivanisevic lost one of the most bizarre matches in his career. This record, just like his Wimbledon win as a wildcard entry, is unmatched by anyone. Not even Novak Djokovic, since he didn’t ever lose a match as a result of smashing his racket. Not once out of the 62 times he did it.

Goran Ivanisevic did try to redeem himself during that match after he realized he had gone too far. He tried to fetch a racket from anywhere, asked for help, and finally got his doubles partner Ivan Ljubicic’s racket. But that was a Slazenger and it didn’t suit him. This strange incident and his 2001 Wimbledon win will forever be etched into the annals of tennis history. What’s odd is both these records seem to be on the opposite side of the spectrum.

Jannik Sinner got his 2024 Rotterdam Open campaign off to a perfect start, demolishing Botic van de Zandschulp in straight sets. One stunning retrieve from a disadvantageous position stunned fans on social media, who compared him to Novak Djokovic.

Sinner pulled off a serve-and-volley, rushing up to the net after serving. However, Van de Zandschulp countered it with a measured aerial lob over the Italian’s head. The reigning Australian Open champion rushed back and successfully returned the shot with a jaw-dropping endeavour. The local lad made Sinner run all over the court, but the latter fought hard to win the point.

Official global broadcaster TennisTV shared a clip of this point on their social media accounts. Fans lavished praise upon Jannik Sinner for his incredible court coverage and fitness. Some even compared it to Novak Djokovic, who is renowned for his physicality.

Sinner will now face Gael Monfils in the next round at the Rotterdam Open 2024.

Jannik Sinner justifies Novak Djokovic comparisons by winning three out of their last four matches

Over the last few months, Sinner has truly established himself as one of the most premier tennis players on the tour. The Djokovic comparisons soon followed, especially after the duo clashed twice in the 2023 ATP Finals. The Italian stunned everyone by defeating the Serb in the round-robin phase, putting his qualification under jeopardy. However, Djokovic went through and avenged his group stage defeat in the final. He beat the World No.4 to collect his seventh ATP Finals title.

Jannik Sinner soon got a chance to one up Novak Djokovic soon, when Italy faced Serbia in the 2023 Davis Cup Finals semi-final. He defeated the 24-time Grand Slam winner in his singles tie, also beating him in doubles. The Italians went on to win the Davis Cup title.

Most recently, Sinner beat Djokovic in the semi-finals of the 2024 Australian Open en route to winning his first Grand Slam. While Djokovic still leads 4-3 in their head-to-head, Sinner’s recent victories have fuelled their developing rivalry to great heights. He could potentially go level if they face off in the Indian Wells Masters or the Miami Open in the coming weeks.

Tennis players throwing tantrums on the court mid-game has been an age-old part of the game. And the most common medium of expressing that anger is smashing their tennis rackets, although a certain Rafael Nadal is an exception. From the hot-tempered John McEnroe to wildcard entrant turned Grand Slam winner, Goran Ivanisevic, everybody has expressed that. Among the modern-day greats, Novak Djokovic is someone who stands out for his anger issues. He also has a penchant for smashing his rackets.

Although a very nice and friendly person off the court, Djokovic isn’t easygoing at all while playing. He often makes it incredibly difficult for his opponent, chair umpires, and even the audience to like him for it. A stat shared by an Instagram user Miguel Angel Sanchez, possibly a Rafael Nadal fan, shows that Novak Djokovic has smashed his racket a staggering 62 times in his career. Compare that to Roger Federer, who has only smashed it 5 times in his career.

Novak Djokovic fans love him for his tenacity and aggression on the court. Therefore, they scoff at any time their hero’s anger issues are brought up via a stat or otherwise. In response, they often cite Roger Federer’s anger issues from his early days. While it’s true Federer did have anger issues when he came into the circuit in the early 2000s as a young player, he has since grown leaps and bounds into being the most liked professional tennis player. He even tried to mimic John McEnroe in a Mercedes-Benz ad by smashing rackets in it.

Federer even showed his anger towards Djokovic at the 2006 Davis Cup. This is when the latter was constantly taking breaks and bringing in his physio on the court. This went a long way in sowing the seeds of their rivalry. Instead of smashing rackets, Federer mostly mitigated his anger issues by arguing with umpires and showing visible disgust on his face over his opponents.

However, the main point of Miguel Angel Sanchez’s post seemed to be about paying tribute to Rafael Nadal. While Djokovic stands at 62, and Federer at 5, Rafael Nadal has never once smashed his racket during a game. There are moments when Nadal gets angry. He argued with umpires, responded angrily at the press, and has even been furious at his opponents, like once with Nick Kyrgios who once aimed directly at him and hit the ball during a Wimbledon match. But he never took it out on his rackets, showing magnificent self-control.

This goes back to Nadal’s upbringing and his early coaching days with his uncle Toni Nadal. He learned from his uncle that irrespective of how difficult and intense the situation gets, so much that it may even look unfair at times, to never lose his cool. Nadal learned from an early age to always respect the game and opponents, irrespective of the outcome.

This is the reason Nadal has never smashed a racket, never lashed out at his opponent for a single match, set, or even a point in his career. However, on the same issue, Nadal commented in an interview recently that while it is true Djokovic has smashed rackets in anger after losing, his ability to bounce back immediately by regaining his focus and composure while giving it his everything, is admirable.

It is pretty easy to label Novak Djokovic as the GOAT of tennis despite the bountiful contributions of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal to the sport. That is because he is a 24-time Grand Slam winner, more than anyone else in the history of the sport. However, several factors come into account that would justify the GOAT tag. One such factor would be playing the game ruthlessly and consistently without any injury breaks.

Although it could sound harsh, Novak Djokovic has been injured mid-match many times. He has retired hurt more number of times than Roger Federer or Rafael Nadal. The latter is even considered to be more injury-prone, currently out due to his hip micro tear. Now, that is a stain on the otherwise unblemished record of Djokovic, well-deserving to be a GOAT. At the same time, it is also an unwanted record on Djokovic’s part.

Novak Djokovic is also one of the rare tennis players to have retired hurt from all four Grand Slams. At the 2019 US Open, Djokovic was playing his fourth-round match against Stan Wawrinka in Flushing Meadows, New York. With two sets down, Djokovic retired mid-match. Two years before that, Djokovic had retired mid-match once again during his Quarter-Final encounter against Tomas Berdych. Berdych was ahead by 7-6, 2-0 when he got a walkover.

Long before that at the 2009 Australian Open, Djokovic retired hurt during a match against Andy Roddick. Djokovic played four sets in that match, with the score being 7-6 (7-3), 4-6, 2-6, 1-2. This is when Djokovic couldn’t continue anymore due to excessive heat. Roddick, being the funny person he is, took that opportune moment to poke fun at Djkokovic’s fitness after the match. For this 2009 Australian Open pull-out, ESPN commentator Mary Joe Fernandez criticized the Serb, as did Roger Federer.

At the 2006 Roland Garros, Djokovic retired hurt while playing Rafael Nadal, when the score was 6-4, 6-4 on Nadal’s side.

Novak Djokovic’s tendency of getting injured very frequently and calling physios mid-match was a very common occurrence once. It even sowed the seeds of rivalry between Roger Federer and him during the 2006 Davis Cup. This is when Djokovic was calling his physio mid-match frequently until Federer finally lost his temper. Federer was even assured of his doubt when he saw Djokovic up close against his Swiss teammate Wawrinka. This led him to make some harsh comments about the Serb in the press conference.

Novak Djokovic has come a long way from there and Rafael Nadal agrees

Novak Djokovic has truly come a long way from being injured all the time. Today, he is aged 36 and competing against some of the fittest, youngest tennis stars of all time. He may have lost the Australian Open 2024 semi-final against Jannik Sinner, but Djokovic won 3 of the 4 Grand Slams last year and was runners-up at the Wimbledon. What’s unbelievable is that he is not only matching but also able to overcome the agility, strength, speed, stamina, and power of players like Carlos Alcaraz, Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev, etc.

Many still believe, including off late, Rafael Nadal himself that Novak Djokovic is still the GOAT and that he will continue to win more Grand Slams. The 2024 Australian Open loss, a rarity for the Serbian GOAT, won’t affect him much, and it’s an aberration in his long and illustrious career which is yet to end. For the sake of tennis fans around the world, let’s hope that’s true.
