In a world where GOATs like Simone Biles rule their respective sports with their moves, there could still be problems. The Olympic star has it all: a house, pets, a loving family, and more. However, she ran into a problem that isn’t new for many people who present themselves in various sizes and forms.

Cribbing about how she ran into an apparel-size issue, Biles took to her official ‘X’ account to rant about it. Her complaints were followed by a cry for help since the situation didn’t witness a light at the end of the tunnel. And fans came in full force to help out.

Expressing her annoyance on the subject, Biles revealed how she couldn’t get the clothes that appropriately fit her. This problem was occurring far too frequently now, and she was at her wits’ end.

“IM SICK & TIRED OF NOTHING FITTING………

please send me petite stores to shop at.”

For reference, the gymnast was 4’8 and weighed around 103 lbs. However, her clothes seemed to be too big or ill-fitting for petite people like her. Therefore, she asked her fans if they could suggest places to shop for clothes.

One of the fans quickly provided the perfect solution to Biles’ apparel predicament.

Another came close to the gymnast’s height and recommended brands that worked for them:

Fans helped each other out with recommendations and were grateful for the community.

Meanwhile, some suggested that Biles should start her line with an apparel brand:

Resonating with the same thought, another gymnastics enthusiast chimed in:

The ask was quite prominent and highlighted Biles’ contribution to the sport while representing petit athletes in the field. Not everyone may have access to stores like Nordstrom, GAP, American Eagle, and so on. While fans flooded the gates with many more suggestions, it goes to show how even champions like Biles faced common problems like this.

Simone Biles’ outfits are her USP

Simone Biles has always made it clear that her fashion sense remained unmatched. She doesn’t hold back when it comes to cheering for her loved ones, and that’s where she incorporates some of her style combined with some custom designs.

Husband and NFL icon Jonathan Owens knows this. He would often watch his wife cheer for him out loud from the sidelines, blow kisses, and be grateful for her. Meanwhile, the Olympian would always show up with clothes sporting her husband’s jersey number and his name. Setting the bar high, Biles was proud of her commissioned creations, and fans were too.

Valentine’s Day brought in all the loved ones appreciating their partners, and star gymnast Simone Biles wasn’t far behind. Known for her doting on her husband, NFL icon Jonathan Owens, Biles made sure to make him feel appreciated.

The day also marked their engagement, which made the celebration sweeter. Biles bombarded her socials with pictures of her and Owens, declaring her appreciation for him. The NFL icon also took to Instagram to share a glimpse of their special day.

While Biles seemed to express how she didn’t need a special day to celebrate her love for her husband, it didn’t hurt to flaunt her feelings. Her Instagram stories featured the couple happily huddled together, posing for pictures. Be it professional shoots or casual selfies, they seemed content with each other. Simone expressed her feelings for her husband in the post’s caption:

“Every day feels like valentines day with you.”

Meanwhile, Owens had a long note dedicated to his wife. Sharing glimpses from when he got down on one knee and popped the question, the NFL icon was grateful for his ‘rock’ being by his side always.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to my best friend…I can’t believe that it’s been 2 years since this amazing day, man does time fly. You’re my rock, i feel like i can accomplish anything as long as i have you by my side.”

The love shower doesn’t stop there, though. Known for spoiling each other with gifts, the gymnast recently shared how Owens treated her to flowers and luxury accessories. She revealed how she had been crying all day, and her husband’s gesture melted her heart.

While being attached to the hip, Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens faced some backlash

The couple might be strong enough to endure the hardships that life throws their way. However, in a recent twist of events, Owens faced the wrath of gymnastics enthusiasts after one of his statements didn’t translate properly.

In a podcast featuring various NFL safety players, Owens confessed how he never heard of his wife, Biles, before they began dating. What added fuel to the fire was the Green Bay Packers icon claiming that he was the ‘catch’ in their relationship.

Biles even suggested that fans would eventually know her as Owens’ wife, which snowballed into days’ worth of criticism and backlash. Nevertheless, there’s no denying that the couple loves and supports each other beyond limits.

Simone Biles has had one of the most impressive records throughout her gymnastics career. The 26-year-old proved to the world that one didn’t need a cushy life to make it big. Beginning at a young age, Biles’ legacy in the sport has made her the most decorated gymnast across the globe.

Life wasn’t easy for the Olympic star. Born to a mother struggling with addiction issues, she adapted herself to various changes in her life. When gymnastics happened, she found her home and quickly became a prodigy. After a hiatus following mental health concerns, the icon is finally back and hoping for the best.

At what age did Simone Biles start gymnastics?

Biles began gymnastics at the age of 6. She discovered the sport during a field trip and began mimicking senior gymnasts until the coaches invited her to try it out.

What happened to Biles’ mother?

The gymnast’s biological mother, Shanon Biles, struggled with substance addiction. The concerns grew when neighbors found Simone and her three siblings playing by themselves in the yard, unsupervised. After CPS intervened, the kids were sent into foster care while their mother worked on her issues.

What happened to Biles and her siblings in foster care?

After moving from one foster home to another, Simone and her siblings were eventually adopted by their maternal family. The eldest kids went to their grand-aunt while Simone and the youngest child, Adria, went with their maternal grandparents.

Who are Simone Biles’ parents?

Nellie and Ronald Biles were Simone’s grandparents before they adopted her and her sister. Since then, Simone and Adria Biles have always called them their mother and father, and they have lived like a happy family.

Who is Simone Biles’ husband?

Biles began dating NFL safety Jonathan Owens sometime in 2020. The couple recently tied the knot in a lavish ceremony.

When did the gymnast win her first Olympic gold?

In 2016, the Summer Olympics in Rio witnessed history. Biles not only won her first gold in the team event but also became the only gymnast for Team USA to compete in all four events in the final.

How many Olympic medals does Simone Biles have?

Biles has a total of seven Olympic medals: four gold, one silver, and two bronze.

Why did Biles take a break?

During the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, Biles suffered from a case of ‘twisties’, where gymnasts lose their mind-body coordination mid-air. This condition often causes serious injuries and affects one’s mental well-being. Therefore, the icon decided to take a break from the sport and walked away from the Olympics then and there.

How many gymnastics moves are named after Simone Biles?

Having earned the title of the most decorated gymnast in the world, Simone has five gymnastics moves named after her: Biles (6.0) (vault), Biles II (6.4) (vault), Biles (H) (balance beam), Biles (G) (floor exercise), and Biles II (J) (floor exercise).

Biles is the GOAT of gymnastics for a reason. With her recent return to the international stage, fans are now demanding more of her competitive spirit. While the question of whether or not she’ll be a part of the Olympic team in Paris hangs in the air, enthusiasts are hopeful.

While one might celebrate this Valentine’s Day with loved ones, Simone Biles got the greatest set of updates on her brand-new house. The Texas resident has been building a new home from scratch with her husband, Jonathan Owens. While the construction is still in progress, it’s come a long way since it was just a plot of land.

Recently, she took her fans through a journey with room-by-room updates on the house. From new walls to procuring her dream set of stones for the exteriors, the star gymnast is excited to start a new chapter. The house, although under construction, looked lavish and fit Biles’ vision.

The series of stories featured the outside of the mansion, interiors, kitchen, closet space, and more. With roomy spaces and elegant looks, it looks like the millionaire gymnast was all set to bring her dreams to reality. With her husband Owens, the house would finally serve as a new home for their close-knit family.

Apart from the many quirks that the house would eventually carry, Biles was obsessed with the space for her clothes. Known for her vast collection of clothes and accessories, ranging from luxury pieces to fun custom-made costumes for Owens’ matches, the gymnast now won’t have to overthink about closet space.

“I’ll never run out of room for clothes”

The new house located in Texas has been the gymnast’s priority project since 2022. Previously, she had flaunted glimpses of sliding doors that open up to a gorgeous outdoorsy view and an open balcony. The property is located on the banks of a beautiful lake, and Biles plans to take full advantage of the view. She wanted to do so by planning more open spaces.

“This view will never get old, especially when the sun sets”

Hoping to catch more sunsets and thrive beside nature, the gymnast’s home is extremely close to full construction. And to celebrate the house’s progress and an early Valentine’s, Biles did something special. She ordered her favorite food and spent quality time with her best friends.

Ringing in ‘Galentines’, Simone Biles gorges over pizza and drinks

It’s no secret that the Olympian knows how to party well. Be it hosting her lavish wedding or organizing an intimate night-in with her best friends – Biles knows what’s best. After she updated her fans on her house, she showed off what she had in store for the night. With a couple of her friends over, the women decided to have a girls’ night with some treats.

The cozy night involved heart-shaped pizzas, chocolate-covered strawberries, takeout, and a round of beverages. While she didn’t mention all of them, the one featured in her stories was Samantha Roy, NFL star Nico Collins’ partner. All of them had their fuzzy footwear and pajamas on, ready to have some fun.

The Rio Olympics witnessed the dream team when the USA Gymnastics committee put together Simone Biles, Laurie Hernandez, Madison Kocian, Aly Raisman, and Gabby Douglas. The women worked together to win numerous medals and grew popular. But even before this, Douglas was a star at the vault, winning hearts and golds at championships.

History

The young gymnast entered the sport at 6 and scaled up immediately. She moved to Iowa upon turning 14, when her career in gymnastics looked promising to her family and coaches. Since then, Douglas has dedicated herself to the sport, competing in her first international debut in 2008 at the US Classic in Houston.

After fracturing her wrist plate in 2009 due to an accident, Douglas took a while to bounce back to the top. She finally found her redemption in 2011 after making it to the US Gymnastics team for the World Championships. She made her Olympic debut at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London as a part of the ‘Fierce Five’. And lastly, she made it to the official roster for the 2016 Rio Olympics before her extended hiatus.

Achievements over the years

All in all, Douglas bagged three Olympic gold medals throughout her prolific career—one for the all-round category at the London Olympics and two team golds at the London and Rio Olympics. She also won a team gold at the World Championships in 2011 and 2015.

It seems to be the season of comebacks in gymnastics. After Simone Biles returned to the international stage after a two-year break, former teammate Gabby Douglas announced her return, eyeing the Olympics.

The 28-year-old took to Instagram to share a compilation of her rehearsal videos with a note about her true feelings. After her participation in the Rio Olympics, Douglas will return to the sport after eight years. The upcoming Winter Cup will witness the icon along with other champions whose names the committee plans to announce later.

In an emotional declaration, Douglas confessed that, while she never thought that this day would come, the journey to it had been worth the wait. In an interview with NBC News Now, the champion revealed how the urge to compete came up when she watched the 2022 U.S. championships.

“I’m still a competitor at heart… I can get this out of me, and so I decided to start back training.”

Currently, she’s on the roster for the upcoming Winter Cup championships scheduled for February 23–25. The USA Gymnastics Committee plans to announce the rest of the team members by February 9th. Douglas, meanwhile, has taken to practice with full determination. In her Instagram post caption, she seemed determined.

“I’m determined to make every moment count! SO happy to get back out on the competition floor and enjoy this sport that i fell in love with as a little girl. here’s to never giving up on our dreams.”

She confessed that she’s now eyeing the upcoming Olympics. Having not competed since the Rio Olympics, Douglas has been maintaining a low profile for all these years. Now that she has returned, she has a few more competitions to prepare for before she makes it to the main show.

Meanwhile, former teammate Simone Biles also made her international comeback this season. The Antwerp World Championships witnessed her jaw-dropping performance, as she took the lead with four golds. Her next stop, however, is uncertain.

Unlike Gabby Douglas, Simone Biles won’t regret her absence from the Paris Olympics

After her return to the stage, the world was curious if Biles aimed to make it to the upcoming Olympics. And while the idea sounds great, the star confessed that she has no strong emotions surrounding the subject.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, she confessed that she would love to be in Paris for the Olympics. But whether as an attendee or a participant was something she wasn’t sure of. All she knew was that she wouldn’t be upset about the committee’s decision, no matter what.

Currently, Simone Biles is one of the richest female athletes across the globe. All of it comes courtesy of not only her countless wins and golds but also her numerous collaborations with various brands and companies. Deemed as one of the most decorated athletes, Biles is synonymous with elite gymnastics for a reason. Her journey with gymnastics wasn’t all rosy. With a huge stage, all eyes on her, and a high standard that she set for herself, the pressure was immense.

Olympic salary

While Biles has been a popular athlete, winning straight golds in almost all of her championships, the winning bag isn’t as significant as one would expect. According to Forbes, depending on the kind of medal, American athletes will be paid the following prizes in 2022:

  • $37,500 for each gold medal
  • $22,500 for each silver medal
  • $15,000 for each bronze medal

During her Rio Olympics debut, Biles was paid less for her extraordinary achievements. Her prize money distribution looked something like this:

  • $25,000 for each gold medal
  • $15,000 for each silver medal
  • $10,000 for each bronze medal

This amounts her approximate Rio Olympics salary to anywhere between $82,500 to $100,000, according to The Cosmopolitan. However, she does not have a fixed salary for her Olympic endeavors.

Endorsements and Brand Deals

Since athletes couldn’t depend too much on Olympic prize money, they often resort to partnerships with various brands. Over the years, Biles has partnered with various companies like Athleta, GK Elite, Kellogg’s, MasterCard, Visa, and so on for brand deals and endorsements. Currently, she even has her own apparel line with Athleta and GK Elite. Forbes estimated that the star gymnast raked in $10 million in off-field earnings alone in 2022.

But not all deals have ended on a positive note. Her partnership with Nike ended in 2021, and the gymnast cited reasons surrounding misalignment in missions. She switched to partnering with Athleta, which she felt resonated more with the principles she stood for.

Real estate

Apart from what she earns through sponsorships, Biles has also been investing in building her property along with her husband, Jonathan Owens. She already owned a 4,000-square-foot home near Houston, Texas, and is now building one more from scratch. While property records suggest her current house costs about $750,000, her new home’s costs are not known.

Gymnastics has long witnessed the progress of Simone Biles from a junior star to a historic Olympian. Since her terrific debut at the World Championships in 2013, it’s mostly been an upward journey for her. After the Tokyo Olympics, however, Biles took an indefinite break, citing mental health issues.

During her hiatus, the star focused on everything that her personal life demanded from her. This included spending quality time with her family, welcoming her niece, building a house from scratch, and marrying her longtime partner, NFL icon Jonathan Owens. And while she continued her partnership with the apparel company GK Elite, fans longed to see her in action on stage.

After two years of staying away from the stage, however, a surprise announcement caught fans’ attention. Biles made her historic comeback at the place that started it all. The World Championships 2023 in Antwerp witnessed the Olympian work her magic on the bars and beams.

Mesmerized by how the spark never diminished, the world has been rooting for Biles ever since. The champion bagged four golds at the event, bringing her total world championship medal count to 30. But the event was special for many reasons.

“Antwerp will always hold a special place in my heart. The first time I got a skill named after me was in this arena & 10 years later I got my 5th skill named.”

This win also marked the moment she was crowned as the most decorated gymnast across the globe. An achievement that not many athletes could boast of. But the victory raised the question: would she compete in the upcoming Paris Olympics?

The Tokyo Olympics saw an unfortunate turn of events when Biles pulled away from the competition. Owing to Twisties, a condition where gymnasts lose their mind-body coordination mid-air, Biles believed that the decision was in the best interest of her physical well-being.

That’s why the Paris Olympics could prove to be special. Fans hope for redemption while the gymnast tries to keep her head cool about the increasing questions. She previously expressed interest in attending as an audience, but since her comeback, expectations have skyrocketed.

Will fans see Simone Biles on the vault at the Paris Olympics?

Unlike fans, who have been hoping for a positive response, Biles decided to go with the flow for the upcoming Olympics. She has been rehearsing at her gym under constant mentorship from her longtime coach, Cecile Landi. Surprisingly, Landi was the one who coaxed her to return to the stage. In an interview with Vanity Fair, she finally expressed her desire to return with a catch.

“If I don’t make it to Paris, it won’t absolutely crush me.”

In a separate interview on Peacock TV, she even added that joining the Olympic gymnast team wasn’t her decision to make. The committee will announce the decision when the time comes. Meanwhile, she maintained that she wouldn’t have any regrets about whether or not she made it to the team. There are speculations that she might be on the official roster, but until the claims are confirmed, Biles continues to explore her love for gymnastics in various ways.
